Tonya McClure, an accomplished dancer and choreographer, is a native of Atlanta , began her dance education at locally initially studying Ballet, Pointe, Tap and Jazz. Her range of dance was expanded to also include Modern and West African. Tonya’s dance education and training has allowed her to participate in regional and national dance competitions where she has received recognition for choreography excellence and won two national dance championships since 2005. She has taught locally in the Atlanta area since 1985. She has also studied with several renowned instructors and choreographers throughout the United States including The Alvin Ailey School, where she was the recipient of a scholarship. She has been on staff with A.D. West since the fall of 2003 and serves as the competition team coordinator.
Tonya is an active member of Destiny Dancers of Praise liturgical dance ministry at Destiny World Church in Austell , Georgia since 2001 and she received her license as a minister of the Gospel from Destiny World Church in October 2010. Tonya serves as the dance ministry leader and provides leadership oversight for the adult and youth dance ministries and currently serves as the dance ministry leadership mentor. She is also a member of Passion for Worship Dance Ministry International (an evangelistic outreach dance ministry) and is the owner of Anointed 2 Dance 4 Him Creative Arts Ministry which provides ministry outreach and dance education programs.
She is a member of the National Liturgical Dance Network, International Dance Commission and Christian Dance Fellowship USA, where she currently serves as state coordinator for the Georgia Chapter. Tonya continues to cultivate her ministry of dance by attending and facilitating at conferences and workshops. She has been blessed to travel abroad to Malaysia, Bahamas, Barbados, Israel, Ghana West Africa, Scotland and Puerto Rico to study, teach and “advance the Kingdom”. Tonya currently works for WellStar Health System and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has one son Ricky, a daughter in-law Tiffany and a grandson Reese Alexander.
Vicki’s experiences as a dancer started at
the age of five when she stepped onto the dance floor with the late Mattie T.
Smith, who was then the owner of Smith School of Dance. For nine years she studied ballet, tap, jazz,
pointe and baton twirling. She continued
her dance training under the direction of Madam Mable Love at Fisk University
in Nashville TN, where she was a principal dancer with the Fisk Dance Ensemble. Upon graduation, Vicki returned to Atlanta
and assumed a teaching position with the Jacobs Dance Academy. She continued to strengthen her dance
techniques and enrich her teaching abilities by attending classes at Atlanta
Ballet, as well as attending dance workshops and seminars with dance
professionals around the globe.
Vicki is dedicated to touching the lives of
dance students who embrace the art of dance.
She loves dance, especially teaching.
She has a sincere approach to encourage technical skills and she passes
this passion on to her students. Vicki
has championed many dancers to acquire numerous awards in both local and
A proud native of Atlanta, Georgia, Elycia Phelps has twenty
years of professional dance training under her belt. Her extensive training in
Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and various other dance disciplines, has made her both a
versatile and a skillful performer. Elycia has trained with several notable
choreographers, including Chet Walker, , Kevin “Tokyo” Inouye, Trina Parks, Debbie
Daniel Wells, Janet Robertson, Kelvin Amburgey, and the late Deborah Barnes.
Elycia has also perfected her craft through various
performances including her career involvement in competitive
dance. As a dancer, choreographer, and artistic director, Elycia has been
graced with the opportunity of performing for Jennifer Holiday, MC Hammer,
TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, and Travis Tritt to name a few. Within her dance career, Elycia was also
fortunate to redefine and exhibit her talents in New York City at Broadway
Dance Center. A proud recipient of Miss Dance America – Kids Artistic Revue
Dance Competition both Regional and National, Elycia seeks to instill
knowledge, confidence, and passion into aspiring dancers, while maintaining a
professional and healthy learning environment.

Atlanta Native who Eats, Drinks, and LIVES Dance! Currently performing with Atlanta Dance Connection, directed by Alvin Ailey’s protege, Allyne D. Gartrell. Also currently working in Atlanta Public School Systems. Received extensive training from several studios throughout Metro Atlanta. Attended Brenau University and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance Education. Performed with and in activities with celebrities such as India Arie, T.C. Carson, Jasmine Guy, and Juanita Bynum. Favorite quote: “While I dance I can not judge, I can not hate, I can not separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. This is why I dance.”
Jaquez Hunt "Q"
Growing up With a passion for the arts, Q participated in
numerous talent shows and competitions in his adolescent years. His love for
dance flourished when he went on to become one of the founding members for
Savannah State’s Ampliphiers dance team. When opportunities presented themselves to work professionally in
Atlanta, Q hoped on the chance. Performing alongside some of Atlanta’s most
influential and talented dancers and
choreographers, he found himself thrust head-on in the world of entertainment.
He also started teaching his craft to others. Instruction at numerous metro
Atlanta studio’s, including his very 1st, A.D. West. Q hopes to
inspire and express himself creatively through his art.
Bethany Rosser is a native Georgia Peach born in Decatur, Georgia and raised in Douglasville. She works with Dance Tech II and Intermediate II dance levels as well as the A. D. West Competition teams. Bethany has been dancing for 16 years, cheered for eight years, and she has been teaching dance for almost five years.
Bethany started dancing at the age of 10 with A. D. West Dance Company. It was there that she discovered her strong passion for dance and performing. She has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop. While dancing with A. D. West, Bethany was apart of the first competitive dance team and continued to compete up until she graduated high school.
Bethany attended the University of West Georgia, where she danced all four years and served as co-captain for one year. She graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2010 with a Bachelors of Business Marketing and it was in the same year that she began teaching at A. D. West Dance Company.
JerRhonda Tillman began her dance training at the
age of 2 with the Jacobs Dance Academy. She remained there for 18 years. While dancing at Jacobs, she was able to
travel, dance and train with many professional teachers doing workshops and
competitions. After college, she was
given the opportunity to teach and she really enjoyed it. JerRhonda has been teaching for 12 years and
still loves it. She has training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and clogging. JerRhonda’s
passion for teaching tap is the art form she loves most. She hopes to inspire others with the gift of
dance employing her unique style.
Carter is an Award Winning Choreographer and Dance instructor with A.
D. West Dance Company. She has received two National titles, Platinum and Choreographer awards as an instructor on the A.D. West staff. She has been a choreographer for the past 10 years.
Rashaun began her dance career 18 years ago under the tutelage of the of A. D. West Dance Company in Douglasville, Georgia. Rashaun Carter is a native of Douglasville,
Georgia and a graduate of Alexander High School. Rashaun continued her academic success and
attended Georgia State University where she earned her Bachelors of Science
Degree in Psychology. She plans to continue her education and acquire her
Masters in School Counseling. Rashaun is
currently a dance instructor and competition choreographer at the A. D. West
Erin Nicole Smith is a native Delawarean. She
began dancing at the age of 8. She was trained in ballet, tap, modern, jazz,
hip hop, African dance and acrobatics until the age of 16, when she moved
Atlanta Georgia. After high school, Erin went on to study at The Ailey School
of Dance in the 3-year certificate program. During her time at the Ailey
School, she worked with choreographers like Milton Meyers, Nathan Trice and
Bradley Shelver. In 2007, upon the completion of the program, Erin moved back
to Georgia to continue her career in dance. Erin has performed with the
Ballethnic Dance Company and the Atlanta Dance Connection. Additionally, she has served the Atlanta
community as a dance instructor at Gotta Dance Atlanta, RISPA, and The Studio
Atlanta Dance. Erin has been teaching at A.D. West Dance Company for the past
three years. Erin is the mother of one and while she continues to serve the
local community, she is studying nutrition and personal fitness.
